Youan hospital is a affiliated and teaching hospital of the Capital Medical University, with the infectious disease faculty of Capital medical University; standardized residency training base (Infectious disease) of the Ministry of Health and national infectious diseases physician education base affiliated to it.

Continuing education of medicine

Under the principle of full participation and comprehensive improvement, policy for inspiration of staff training was made by the hospital, focusing on faculty leadership and discipline backbone nurture. In Youan hospital, the infectious disease specialty doctor training program is held regularly. More than ten national or municipal continuing education programs and nearly a hundred of lectures are given annually.

Postgraduate education

There are 8 faculties authorized for postgraduate education in our hospital ,including Internal Medicine( infectious disease),Internal Medicine(digestive disease),Surgery(General Surgery),and Clinical laboratory diagnostics(Doctoral),and Traditonal Chinese and Western Integrational medicine,Dermato venereology, Imaging and Nuclear Medicine,Biochemistry and Molecular Biology(Master). Among them, Internal Medicine(infectious disease)and Surgery(General Surgery) provide postdoctoral training. Currently, there are 34 postgraduate mentors (including 12 mentors for doctoral degree), more than 120 postgraduate students in our hospital. Outstanding performance of postgraduate education has rendered higher employment rate and PhD obtain rate than the average level of the Capital Medical University, with one outstanding doctoral thesis.

Undergraduate education

Currently, there are 14 teaching and researching sections, 150 doctors are undertaking annual education task of theory and practice courses of infectious disease for the Capital Medical University in our hospital, including 600 students in more than 10 classes of clinical medicine(seven-year), clinical medicine(five-year), and clinical medicine(international student) faculties. For other medicine (non-clinical) faculties,theory and practice courses of Introduction to Clinical Medicine is provided to 2 classes annually. For Nursing majors faculty, 5 categories of clinical medicine courses are provided to 1 class annually. And the practice of undergraduates and college students in some other specialities of Capital Medical University.

Over the years,our undergraduate education work has made outstanding achievements, entitled the outstanding teaching team and excellent teaching team by the the Capital Medical University. Won the first and second prizes in the teaching achievement to the Capital Medical University. Infectious disease course has been rewarded as the outstanding course and bilingual demonstration course of Capital Medical University, five textbooks written by our hospital have been rewarded as excellent teaching material of the Capital Medical University, hundreds of teaching theses have already been published.

In-service training

Thirty-five programs of national infectious disease specialty doctor training and 37 programs of national HIV/AIDS specialty doctor training has been held consecutively by our hospital,characteristic training programs have also been carried out, including intervention, digestive endoscopy, artificial liver and other clinical skills. As the standardized residency training base (Infectious disease) of the Ministry of Health, Youan Hospital has provided infectious disease training for residents and specialty doctors from other hospitals. More than 300 people in different specialities are enrolled annually to take the in-service training.
